Pope Francis Pilgrimage To Holy Land
Pope Francis will visit Jordan, the State of Palestine, and Israel.
Pope Francis specified that the main purpose of his forthcoming pilgrimage to the Holy Land from May 24th to 26th is to commemorate the historic meeting between Pope Paul VI and the head of the Orthodox Church of the time, Patriarch Athenagoras I of Constantinople.
In January of 1964, Pope Paul VI traveled to the Holy Land. He met with the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople on the Mount of Olives on January 5.

POPE PAUL VI TO BE BEATIFIED
OCTOBER 19, 2014
Pope Francis has approved the promulgation of the decree for the cause of beatification of his predecessor Pope Paul VI. The beatification ceremony will take place October 19, 2014, at the conclusion of the III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the family.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
This Sunday, May 18, two boys from the Polish community will receive Jesus for the first time. They are Jakub Witkowski and Marcel Stenfert Kroese.
On May 4, two children from the Croatian community, Minea Baticeli and Luka Vidović, also received First Holy Communion during the Croatian Mass.
We thank Hania Rembowska and Velma Conte for preparing the children for their First Holy Communion.

REST IN PEACE
In your prayers, please remember Veronika Górecka, who entered Eternal Life on May 6th. Our condolences are offered to her family and friends. In this time of sadness, may they know God’s consolation. The funeral took place in St. Stanislaus Church on May 17th at 10 am.

WELCOME FR. TADEUSZ BANIOWSKI
We welcome Fr. Tadeusz Baniowski, who will be in Portland from May 19-29. He will substitute for Fr. Peter, who will be taking a group on a pilgrimage to Lourdes during that time. We wish that Fr. Baniowski has a pleasant stay in Portland and in our parish.

MAJÓWKA – DEVOTION TO BLESSED MARY

We would like to invite all parishioners for our May devotions to Blessed Mary in the Grotto near the shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa. At 5pm we will start to sing the Litany of Loretto and Polish Marian songs.
