CONFESSIONS BEFORE EASTER
There will be an opportunity for confessions before Easter on April 7 from 6pm-9pm. Fr. Andrzej Sowowski and Fr. Stanisław Żak will be assisting with confessions during this time.
General absolution without prior individual confession is not permitted and is not to take place in the Archdiocese of Portland except in the grave situation clearly outlined in Canon 961. Such situations would rarely if ever exist. Take note that the Archbishop is the only one competent by law to judge whether these grave conditions are present.

Rice Bowls will be available at the back of the church. This is a Lenten fundraiser for Catholic Relief Services.

LENT FASTING AND ABSTINENCE
During Lent, Catholics age 14 and older must not eat meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent. Good Friday also a day of fasting – all Catholics ages 18 to 59 may eat only one full meal and two smaller meals.
Lent ends as the Church begins the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday night. That liturgy is the first moment of the Paschal Triduum.

ARCHBISHOP’S CATHOLIC APPEAL 2014
Most past contributors to the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal already received a mailing from Archbishop Sample. The Appeal provides funds to support essential parish-based ministries that would find it difficult, if not impossible, to operate solely on parish funds. This year’s goal for St. Stanislaus is $5,924. Please make checks payable to Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal.
