POPE ISSUES FIRST APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION: EVANGELII GAUDIUM

Pope Francis has issued his first Apostolic Exhortation on Tuesday, Evangelii Gaudium, translated into English as The Joy of the Gospel. The 224-page document outlines the Pope’s vision for a missionary Church, whose “doors should always be open”. The Pope speaks on numerous themes, including evangelization, peace, homiletics, social justice, the family, respect for creation, faith and politics, ecumenism, interreligious dialogue, and the role of women and of the laity in the Church.
The Church, he says, should not be afraid to re-examine “customs not directly connected to the heart of the Gospel” even if they may have deep historical roots.

NEW YEAR PARTY – DECEMBER 31, 8PM
Starts with the Thanksgiving Holy Mass for all graces which we had received at 7PM. After the Mass at 8PM please join us for the New Year’s Party. Bring a dish to share and a donation of $5.00 per person to cover drinks.

FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH – Jan. 3, 2014
ALL DAY ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT will be from 8:30AM until 6:45PM. Holy Masses will be at 8AM (Eng.) and 7PM (Pol.). Please sign the adoration list.

PARISH OPŁATEK – January 11, 2014
Parish opłatek will take place on Saturday, January 11 after the 5PM Polish Mass. There will also be Jasełka (Nativity play). Please come and enjoy our parish gathering.
